Disable Admin Notice Message

Magento is an open source platform for e-commerce, which always is updated on a regular basis to fix security issues, bugs, and to add new features. And every time a new update is available, Magento 2 will send the updates and send an admin notice message to your backend.

On the one hand, it is a good way to keep you stay up-to-date with the new updates. But when it comes to end client, they tend to dislike the pop up which is about the thing that they do not know to appear every time they log in. Therefore, in this tutorial, I will show you some solutions to disable admin notice message in Magento 2.

How to disable admin notice message

What is Admin Notice Message

By default, whenever you log in to the Magento Admin Panel, you would see a message which is sent by Magento 2 to inform you that your site has been updated after security updates.

Therefore, it can be said that Admin Notice Message is a notification of which purpose is to inform you about the update situation of your Magento 2 site.

Method 1: Disable Admin Notice Message in the backend

  • Step 1: Using your admin account to log in to Magento 2.

  • Step 2: In the left sidebar, you will see the Store section. Click on it and then go to Settings > Configuration.

  • Step 3: When you have finished the above step, you will see a section called Advanced in the panel on the left side. Expand it and choose Advanced which is under that section.

  • Step 4: Under the Disable Modules Output, you will see Magento_AdminNotification extension which is installed on your store.

  • Step 5: Choose Disable.

  • Step 6: Then, click on the Save Config button.

  • Step 7: Finally, clear the cache.

However, from Magento 2.2.0, the section which allows you to disable module output will be removed from Admin..

Hence, to Disable Admin Notice Message, you can use the second method which is using the command line

Method 2: Disable Admin Notice Message using command line

To disable Admin Notice Message, you can use SSH panel at the Magento 2 store root to run the following command:

php bin/magento module:disable -f Magento_AdminNotification

In conclusion, there are two main ways which allow you to disable Admin Notice Message. Depend on the different situation of your store, it’s up to you choose the most suitable solution for your store.
