How to Install Magento Theme from Zip File?

Download the theme

Once you have determined your favorite theme and download the zipped version, unzip the theme’s archive folder.

Then you will get two directories: app and pub.

Upload the theme

Now, navigate to the root directory of your Magento 2 store. FileZilla is available to use in this case.

Next, you upload the app and pub folder in the root directory of your Magento 2 store.

Run commands

In this stage, connect your Magento shop via SSH and navigate to the root directory. There are 2 required command lines you need to move to the next stage.

  • Upgrade the setup via command: php bin/magento setup:upgrade

  • Deploy the static content via command: php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

Apply the theme

To put your new themes in the front-end of the store, login to your store admin panel and select Content > Configuration.

After that, select Edit the theme of the store you want to change.
