Select editable order status
Control which type of order can be modified to prevent unnecessary changes. For example, orders that have already been shipped or are in transit should remain locked to maintain order accuracy. In such cases, customers can request a refund, return the package, and place a new order instead.
Edit orders without canceling them
Unlike Magento 2’s default system, our Magento 2 Edit Order extension lets you update pending orders without canceling or re-creating them, keeping the order ID unchanged. All edits happen directly on the View Order Page from admin's backend for a smooth, hassle-free experience—no redirects needed.
An "Edit" button is available next to each editable section. Simply click it, and a popup will instantly appear, allowing you to update the details with ease.

For guest orders, store admins can quickly create a customer account directly from the Edit Account popup in the backend. This feature automatically links the guest’s past order history to their new account, allowing them to track orders, receive personalized offers, and simplify future checkouts. It’s a seamless way to improve customer retention and enhance the shopping experience.
Moreover, merchants can also create new orders for guests along with making them new accounts.
Auto-recalculate costs
When updating the shipping method, users can select a different carrier, apply taxes, or add discounts—all of which impact the final shipping fee. To ensure accuracy and convenience, the Edit Order for Magento 2 extension instantly recalculates and displays the updated shipping cost as soon as changes are made.
Meanwhile, the order's total cost is also automatically adjusted. However, before the new total is displayed, users must review and confirm the changes to ensure everything is correct.

The module is a solution to the Magento default limitation on editing processing orders. With the default, if there is something wrong with the order and the customers need to make changes, there is no other option but to cancel that order and place a new one. This can cause frustration as it makes shoppers start all over again and might just abandon that cart. With Edit Order, store owners can help modify anything about the order based on customer's requests without cancellation.

To change the order status, please follow these steps: go to the admin panel > Sales > Orders > click the View button of the order you want to edit status. Now, setup the conditions to change the status as follow:
- Invoice has not been created: Pending
- Invoice is created: Processing Shipment is submited: Complete
- Shipment is submited: Complete

Go to Sales > Orders > choose the order you want to edit > click View button of that order. Press Edit in the Order & Account Information section and change the Order Number.

Yes! To create a new invoice after editing an order, please click Invoice on the section bar. It will then display a new invoice for you to modify. Remember to press Submit Invoice at the page bottom to save your changes.
